HAZEL V. GAINES
Hazel V. Gaines, 89, Macon passed away Sunday January 7, 2007 at Clarence Care Center at Clarence.
Mrs. Gaines was born June 30, 1917 in Macon county, the daughter of Hubert and Lillian Marsh Brown. She graduated from Macon High School in 1935. She married Wallace Gaines on October 15, 1939 at Macon. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Macon.
Surviving are three daughters, Mary Sue and husband Donald Woods of Huntsville, Donna and David Orbin of Macon and Patsy and husband Bert Groenenboom of Macon; 12 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Darlene Marino of Macon and Anna Marie McBride of Maryland Heights, Mo; and one sister-in-law, Marjorie Frazee of Huntsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on July 20, 1991; son-in-law; two brothers, one grandson and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, january 10, 2007 at the first Baptist Church in Macon with Brother Clark Dobbs, the Rev. Weldon Frazee, the Rev. Milton McBride and the Rev. Devon Orbin officiating. Burial will be in Darksville Cemetery, north of Huntsville. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon. the family suggets memorials to Clarence Care Center or to the Darksville Cemetery Association.
