Barbara Jean Brockett, 65, of Burlington, Iowa died at GRMC Hospice House on Monday evening, Oct. 17, 2011.

Born on January 19, 1946 in Ft. Madison, Iowa, she was the daughter of Alfred C. and Mary E. Ford Mueller. She married David Brockett on Sept. 10, 1971 in Burlington, Iowa. He died on Oct. 27, 1997.

Barbara was employed in housekeeping at BMC for 18 years. She loved music, singing karaoke, the outdoors, fishing, camping and spending time with her family.
She was affiliated with the First Southern Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Debra (Joey) Mondorf of Burlington, IA; one son, Michael Robert Brockett of Carmen, IL; four brothers, Donald Mueller of West Burlington, IA, Darrell Mueller of Ft. Madison, IA, Frank Mueller of West Point, IA and Mike Mueller of Burlington, IA; two sisters, Betty Ann (John Jr.) Boughton of Burlington, IA and Kathleen (John) Medland of Ft. Madison, IA; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David; her parents; one infant daughter, Barbara Ann Brockett; one son, Danny Brockett Jr.; and one brother, David Mueller.

Funeral services for Barbara Jean Brockett will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Prugh's Chapel, Burlington, IA. Pastor Randy Richardson will officiate. Interment will be at Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, IA.
