Rev. Thoburn Enge, 93 of Bloomington, formerly of Canton died at 5:45 PM on Wednesday March 25, 2015 at Meadows Mennonite Home in Chenoa.

There will be a funeral service for Thoburn on Tuesday March 31 , 2015 at 11 AM at First Presbyterian Church in Normal. Pastor Larry Gaylord and Rev. Kelley Becker will officiate. There will be a visitation from 5-7 PM Monday, March 30, 2015 at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington. Interment will take place in Canton, IL at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington is handling arrangements.

He was born on June 5, 1921 in Veblin, South Dakato to Ernest and Inez Nichols Enge. He married Nelda Brill on June 9, 1946 in Belleville, IL. She preceded him in death on February 27, 1999 in Canton. He was also preceded in death by one sister Inez Yvonne Enge.

Thoburn is survived by three children, Stephen Enge of Plainwell, MI, David Enge of Canton and Philip Enge of Normal. Two grandchildren also survive, Eric Benjamin Enge and Jean Marie (John) Doglio.

Thoburn spent over 40 years dedicating himself to the ministry. He was a Methodist pastor serving in Illinois, Ohio and Wisconsin. His last pastorate was serving the Evangelical Methodist Church in Canton. He later attended First Presbyterian Church in Normal. He loved to watch and feed birds. Thoburn especially loved dogs, photography and woodworking.

CANTON -- Nelda I. Enge, 75, of 1340 E. Elm St. died at 4:10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, at her residence.
Born April 13, 1923, in Belleville to Harry Russell and Letha G. Hults Brill, she married the Rev. Thoburn Enge on June 9, 1946, in Belleville. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Stephen of Mattawan, Mich., David of Canton and Philip of Normal; one brother, James Brill of Arlington Heights; one sister, Mary Madland of Wenatchee, Wash.; and two grandchildren.
She received her nursing training through the Cadet Program during World War II. She was a registered nurse at Graham Hospital in Canton, retiring in 1993. She then was a volunteer at Graham Hospital.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton, where she was active in the church choir.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at her church. The Rev. Paul Walles will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton and 30 minutes before services at the church. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens.
Memorials may be made to Spoon River Home Health.
