"BRAY - On March 1, Joseph H., husband of Catharine T. Bray, nee Monoghan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at his home. 635 Greenway Ave., Darby. Solemn Requiem Mass 10 a.m. Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Viewing Friday evening."

Solemn Requiem Mass will be sung for Joseph H. Bray, 59, of 636 Greenway avenue, Darby, at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Darby. Friends may call at the home Friday evening.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mr. Bray, who was a scenic artist for Philadelphia theatres before the war, died Monday in Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital after an illness of two months. He gave up his profession, in which he was a free lance, when the war broke and went with the Sun Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company where he worked for the past seven years as a painter. Only survivors are his wife, Catharine T., and a daughter, Mrs. Catharine Hiland, of Trooper, Pa. Mr. Bray was born in Philadelphia and had lived in Darby the past 21 years." - Chester Times, 3 March 1948
