Robert P. Kelleher died on Jan. 27, 2000. Born on May 2, 1929, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Leah and Daniel Kelleher, he was 71.

He served for 22 years in the U.S. Air Force, was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was NCO Airman of the Year multiple times.

He gave 22 years of service to UC Davis, retiring as assistant vice chancellor for facilities construction and maintenance.

He loved family, friends, dogs, wildlife, camping and fishing. He was an inspiration to all who knew him and even more so for those who knew him well.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Daisy Kelleher; three children, Mike Kelleher of Woodland, Pattie Kelleher of Davis and Kathy Minta of Port Townsend, Wash.; four grandchildren, Michele Tobin of Glendale, Sarah Kelleher of Woodland, Robin Kelleher of Woodland and Erin Kelleher of Woodland; and seven great-grandchildren, plus one on the way.

He also is survived by his brother, Daniel Kelleher of Dayton, Ohio; and sister, Joanne Parrish of Loveland, Colo.

A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at Davis Funeral Chapel. A funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Monday at St. James Catholic Church.
