Mike Wood, age 61, of Cassville, Missouri, formerly of Ft. Worth, Texas, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013, in Cassville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born October 8, 1951, in San Angelo, Texas, the son of William Doyle and Bonnie (Addams) Wood. On June 4, 1977, in Ft. Worth, Texas, he was united in marriage to Marolyn Beeson, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Jennifer Wood McBroom and her husband, Tony of Clarksville, Tennessee; one son, Kyle Wood and his wife, Emily of Cassville, Missouri; two brothers, Danny Wood of Moran, Texas and Clifton Wood of Albany, Texas; two sisters, Ann Wood of Stephenville, Texas and Bonnie Rodgers of Eastland, Texas; three grandchildren, Estin and Aiden McBroom and Olivia Wood and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Margaret Beeson of Cassville, Missouri.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Mike grew up and received his education in Stephenville, Texas, where he graduated from high school in 1971. In 1975, he received his Bachelor of Science from Tarleton State University. Most of his adult life he lived in Ft. Worth, Texas. He taught and coached football, power lifting and golf in and around Ft. Worth for twenty-two years. In 2004, Mike was inducted into the Stephenville High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Upon his retirement in 2006, he and Marolyn moved to Cassville to make their home. He enjoyed being outdoors, was an avid golfer and loved family vacations.

He was a member of Cassville United Methodist Church where funeral services were held on Saturday, May 18, 2013, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Pastor Andy Lambel conducted the services. Burial will be in Mineral Springs Cemetery, Cassville.
