NAFUS OBIT

Andrew Jackson NAFUS, 80, of 219 Gunnison Ave, died Saturday while awaiting the start of the Christmas parade.
Mr. NAFUS was born in Arkansas. He spent his childhood in Missouri and attended school there.
On 21 May 1911 he was married to the former Stella BEESOM, at Mineral Springs. She survives.
Mr. NAFUS moved to Colorado in 1923. He engaged in farming / ranching at Lamar, and later near Yampa. He moved to Grand Junction in 1952.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include daughters Mrs. Arnold SUMMERS and Mrs. Orvel BRATTON, both of Grand Junction, and Mrs. Rex SMITH of Granby; sisters: Mrs. Clarence OAKLEY of Benkleman, Neb., and Mrs. Harvey LOWE, Mrs. Fred EDMONDSON and Mrs. Earl VAUGHN, all of Cassville, Mo.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at the Callahan-Edfast Chapel with Rev. F. G. SMITH of the First Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mr. NAFUS had been a member of the Methodist Church.

Stella Mafus
Born Estella Mary Beeson the 2nd child of Maggie & Herny Beeson. She was reared in Forest Grove area.

Mr & Mrs Nafus moved to the Grand Junction area for her health, where they raised their daughters Ferrell, Corine & Jewel. Stella returned to Forest Grove in 1974, living on the family farm. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Grand Junction

On Thursday Mrs Stella Nafus became ill & was taken to St Vincent's Hospital where she passed away 6 hrs later.

Mrs Nafus is survied by her daughters: Mrs Arnold Summers, Mrs Rex Smith, & Mrs Ardel Jewel Bratton; siblings: HJ Beeson, Mrs Ceola Welty & Mrs Carrie Reno all of Cassville; 6 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren
