"Death of Davd Benjamin Beebe
April 19, 1915
David Benajmin Beebe was born on June 8, 1943, at Belidere, Ill., and died at his home in Sageville, a suburb of Dubuque, on Monday, April 19, 1915. Had he lived to June 8th he would have been 72 years of age.
Mr. Beebe was one of the early settlers of Bremer county, having come to Bremer county with his parents in 1857 the family settling on what for years was known as the Beebe farm, one mile south of Horton. In 1886 he was united in marriage to Miss Ella Farnsworth and they took charge of the farm residing there until 1900, with the exception of a couple of years spent at Nashua. In 1900 they moved to Dubuque, where they entered the hotel business and where they have since made their home. Mr. Beebe is survived by the widow and one sister, Mrs. Geo. Knott, of Sioux Falls, S. D., who have the heartfelt sympathy of a host of Bremer and Chickasaw county friends in their bereavement.
The remains were brought to Waverly on Wednesday morning and funeral services were held at the Horton church, Rev. J. Willard Griffith of the Baptist church of Waverly officiating and interment was in the Horton cemetery."

"ANOTHER GOOD WOMAN CALLED TO HER REWARD
After an illness of two weeks' duration, Mrs. James Lemon passed to her reward, at her home in the Fifth ward, Sunday evening at 7 o'clock. The cause of death was bronchial troubles with complications.
Ella Farnsworth was born on a farm near Shell Rock, Iowa, August 11, 1857, and died January 21, 1923, aged 65 year, 6 months and 10 days. Her childhood and young womanhood, and in fact almost her entire life was spent in this vicinity.
In her girlhood days she sought the "Pearl of Greatest Price" and united with the Baptist church, of which she had been a consistent member all her life.
She was married to Ben Beebe in 1886, and for several years thereafter they lived on a farm near Horton. Later they moved to Dubuque, where they lived until Mr. Beebe passed away in 1914. On June 19, 1916, she was united in marriage to James Lemon in Dubuque, Ia., and since then her home had been in this city. She had no children of her own, but was a mother to four children of Mr. Lemon by a former wife, who was a sister of the deceased.
Deceased is survived by her husband and four stepchildren: Charles Lemon, Lime Springs, Minn.; Mrs. Lulu Zwanziger, Horton; Mrs. Edith Miller, Horton, and Mrs. Flo Norman, Waverly. Also three brothers: Isaac Farnsworth, Spokane, Wash.; Frank Farnsworth, Dubuque, Iowa; and James Farnsworth, of the state of Washington. There is also a niece, Mrs. Carl Lemon, Madison, Wis., besides a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. George D. Rogers, pastor of the Baptist church, and the remains were taken to Horton for burial."
