"Death of T. C. Bebout Follows a Short Illness

Veteran Undertaker of Washington Passes Away in Home Here on New Year's Day of Uremic Poisoning.

T. C. Bebout, veteran undertaker of Washington, died in his rooms at 69 East Beau street Tuesday, January 1, 1929, at 1:15 p.m., of uremic poisoning, after an illness of but a few weeks.

Mr. Bebout was born at Amity august 31, 1858, a son of James A. and Elizabeth Jane Sharp Bebout. He came To Washington in 1893 and entered a pertnership with M. Sharp, under the firm name of M. Sharp & Company. After a period of seven years this partnership terminated and the firm took the name of Hallam & Bebout. This concern continued five years, after which Mr. bebout entered business for himself. His son, Raymond Bebout, entered the coompany January 1, 1916, and the firm became known at T. C. Bebout & Son. This firm was long located in North Main street, but for sevberal years has been in the rooms now occupied in East Beau street.

Mr Bebout's father, James A. bebout, was a member of Company D, 140th Pennsylvania regiment, and gave his life on the field of battle on the second day of the conflict at Gettysburg.

His wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Bebout, survives, with two sons, James M. and Raymond. No brothers or sisters survive, Mr. Bebout being the last of his immediate family.

The remains will be taken to the home of his son, Raymond Bebout, 34 Highland avenue, tonight. Funeral services will be conducted in the First Methodist Protestant church Friday at 2:30 o'clock, by the Rev. William Hunter, Jr. Interment will b3e in the Washington cemetery,"
