Lake Dallas- James "Bud" E. Beard, 70, of Lake Dallas died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at his home. Mr. Beard was born March 14, 1932, in Lone Grove, Okla., to Harvey and Vera (Carroll) Beard. He graduated from Lone Grove, Okla., schools. He married Sandra B. Brousseau on Jan. 10, 1953, in Yuma, AZ. He was in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He owned and operated Beard Masonry as a masonry contractor for 40 years. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, in the chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Robertson officiating. Mr. Beard is survived by his wife , Sandra B. Beard of Lake Dallas; daughter Tammy Lynn Beard and her husband Douglas DuRivage of Fresno, CA; sons Randall J. Beard of Lake Dallas and Michael R. Beard and his wife, Stacy Beard, of Oak Point; sisters Leona Schmitz of Durant, OK, Ruth Ross of Ardmore, OK, Leila Mae Melson of Lower Lake, CA, Louise Brooks of Gridley, CA, Donna Waldrum of Porterville, CA; brother Harvey Beard of West Covina, CA; grandchildren, Rodney J. Beard of Denton, Chad Beard of Denton, Shane Beard of Denton, Gabriella deMarie DuRivage of Fresno, CA, Morgan DuRivage of Fresno, CA, Jordan DuRivage of Fresno, CA; and great-grandchildren, Kayla Beard and Nikolas Beard, both of Denton. He was preceded in death by a brother, J.B. Beard. Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (Source Denton-Record Chronicle, 2 Sep 2002)
