William "Bill" E. Barnett,71, Brazil passed away Friday, May 10, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital.

He was born Feb 1, 1942, in Vigo County, to Orville Barnett and Lucinda Fiscus Barnett Overhoff.

He graduated from Gerstmeyer Tech and spent his career working as a welder and fabricator.

He was an avid street rodder, a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 86, the Scottish Rite, the Jorah Shrine and served on fire crews for the Indianapolis 500, Terre Haute Action Track and the Indiana State Fair.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard "Dick" Barnett.

Survivors include wife, Kanova Kaye Quilliam Barnett; sons William E. "Gene" (Michelle) Barnett II and Erick P. (Julia) Barnett both of Brazil; brother, Orville "Bud" (Geraldine) Barnett-Clinton; sister, Maxine McMains-Terre Haute; sister-in-law, Cheryl (Michael) Stewart-Palm Coast, Fla; grandchildren William E Barnett III, Erick P. Barnett II, Alyssia K. Barnett, Emma Reed, Mark Reed, Jr & 6th one coming in November; great grandchildren Cadel Steven Westfall and Corbin Lane Evans, nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will take place at 7 pm, Wednesday, at Moore Funeral Home, Brazil

"BRAZIL - Kanova Barnett, 77, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born in Clay County, Indiana, on August 25, 1943 to the late Orval and Scharlotte (Burch) Quilliam. Kaye graduated from Staunton High School and later married William E. Barnett in 1963. In the early years she stayed home with her children, and sold Avon. In later years, she worked as a secretary for several insurance agencies.
In her free time she was an avid bowler, and enjoyed doing crafts. Her greatest passion was working with Beta Sigma Phi.
Kaye was preceded in death by her husband.
She is survived by her sons, Gene (Darla) Barnett, II, of Terre Haute, and Erick P. (Julia) Barnett, of Brazil; sister, Cheryll (Michael) Stewart of Palm Coast, Florida; and grandchildren, William E. Barnett, III, Erick P. Barnett, II, Alyssia Barnett, Nickolas Barnett, Isabella Barnett, and Taylor Lovett.
Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with Kaye's cremation arrangements. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
