"Manford Ray Jeffers
Manford Ray Jeffers, 82, of Route 24 died at 9:25 a.m. Friday in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was a retired mechanic and farmer. He was born Feb. 10, 1905, in Vigo County to Arthur Jeffers and Jennie Lawson Jeffers. Survivors include his wife, Martha Barnes Jeffers of Terre Haute; two brothers, Charles of Albany and Otis of Farmersburg; on esister, Bertha McGrew of Terre Haute; several nieces and nephews and two aunts. Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Monday in DeBaun Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Allee. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday."

OBITUARY

MARTHA JEFFERS

Martha Jeffers, 93, of Terre Haute died at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday April 8, 2003, in Royal Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was retired from Glas-Col Apparatus Co. She was born in Plainville to Charles Barnes and Harriett Hougland Barnes. Her husband Manford "Mack" Jeffers, preceded her in death. Survivors include a half brother Mack Barnes & wife Edith of North Carolina; a half sister, Alice Myers of Terre Haute; one sister-in-law Mildred Barnes one cousin, Dorothy Shertzer of Linton; and other cousins, nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Nesbit, Lucille Nesbit, two brothers Charles Barnes and Harvey Barnes, one stepsister, Helen Dawson and two stepbrothers, Rev. Gilbert Noel, Gerald Noel. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church at 20th and Hulman streets. Services are 1 p.m. Thursday in DeBaun Idaho Street Chapel, with the Rev. Dan Willis officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.
