"Passing of Robert Ford.
Grandpa Ford

Robert, son of William and Agnes Ford, was born in Downs[sic] county, Ireland, the 16th of April, 1853, being at the time of his death 68 years and 21 days old.

At the age of eleven years he with his mother, brothers and sisters came to this country. His father is buried in Ireland. The family located near Old Foster. In January, 1874, he was united in marriage to Mary E. Barber and to this union ten children were born, two dying in infancy. The children who with the wife and mother survive to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband an dfather are Mrs. J. N. Repp of Albia, John E. Ford of Albia, Marcus O. Ford of Bussey, Charles R. Ford of Hocking, William B. Ford of Albia, Mrs. Lewis Van Dorin, Mrs. William Jeffires of Buxton 18, Mrs. John Polson of Greencastle, Mo. There are also twenty-three grandchildren.

The funeral was held from the U. B. church the sermon being preached by Rev. Cornford and interment was in teh Eslinger cemetery. Out of town relatives present were Henry Barber of Boswell, Kansas, and Robert Nickle of McCracklen, Kansas.
