"The Burlington Hawk-Eye
Morning Sun (IA) -- Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Methodist church in Morning Sun for Mr. Orval L. Bryant, 49, who died Thursday morning at Burlington hospital. The Reverend A. V. Wiegel will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery. The body will be taken from Pierce Funeral home to the church at 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

Mr. Bryant was the son of George and Lulu Wolverton Bryant, born in Morning Sun on November 8, 1914. He was a 1933 Morning Sun high school graduate. On September 20, 1936, he was married to Wilma Baird at Gladstone, Illinois.

Mr. Bryant worked for many years as an electrician in the community. He was a member of the Methodist church, Masonic lodge, Lions and Eagles.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Beverly Todd, Morning Sun; a grandson, Michael Lee; his mother, Mrs. Lulu Bryant, Morning Sun; four brothers, Max, Walter, Cecil and Kenneth Bryant, all of Morning Sun; four sisters, Mrs. Irene Carpenter, Arizona; Mrs. Darlene Dean, Morning Sun; Mrs. Shirley Haight and Mrs. Maxine Hobbs, both of Mediapolis."

"The Hawk Eye
Wilma V. Bryant, 74, of Morning Sun, died Monday, May 11, 1992, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Born August 15, 1917, at Newport, she was the daughter of Tom and Cora Congrove Baird. She married Orval Bryant September 20, 1936, at Gladstone, Missouri (sic: Illinois). He died April 2, 1964.

She had worked for Iowa Southern Utilities and Roy's Locker in Morning Sun. She was also the city clerk for Morning Sun for many years before retiring. She was a graduate, of the Morning Sun High School and was a member of the United Methodist Church and the U.M.W. of Morning Sun.

Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Todd of Morning Sun; two sisters, Jean Griffin and Opal Nichols, both of Morning Sun; and three grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and seven sisters.

Friends may call as they desire Wednesday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun.

The funeral for Mrs. Bryant will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Morning Sun with the Reverend Chris Ebbers officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for the United Methodist Church and the Morning Sun Community Ambulance Service."
