"Enlisting with the 112th Winnipeg Squadron, R,C,A.F., soon after the outbreak of war, FO. ALAN WOOLVERTON is reported missing after air operations overseas. Remustering after the squadron went overseas, he graduated as a pilot and received his commission at Brantford in February, 1943. He was posted overseas immediately. Son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Woolverton, 181 Lenore St., PO. Woolverton was born in Penticton, B.C., 23 years ago, and with his family came to Winnipeg when a child. He attended Laura Secord and Gordon Bell schools. Four brothers are serving with the air force. They are: L/AC. George, Ottawa; PO. Ralph, with the Ferry Command; Sgt. Frank, Rivers, Man., and Cpl. Jack, No. 8 Repair Depot."
