Child by a previous marriage. Also found as James W. On 6/4/89 I
interviewed Mack Ballentine in Wister, Oklahoma, who went to school with
both Bud Welch and Beulah Welch. He confirmed that they were stepchildren
of Bob Cannon (T.R.). Bud was two years older than Mack and Beulah was
younger. Records of Mt. View Baptist Church of Glenville Community, near
Wister Lake, LeFlore County, OK, showed that Bud and Beulah both joined
the church on August 27, 1810, by transfer of letter from Pilgrim's Rest,
Oklahoma. Pilgrim's Rest is a community somewhat south of Wister Lake.

I found no further record of these children. The LeFlore county school
records list him as James W. Welch. The church records in LeFlore county
list him as J.E. Welch. The 1910 census record lists him as James W.
Welch. 1900 Census in Eagle Township, Polk county, Arkansas lists him as
James E. Welch and born in Jan, 1893.
