John Elmer Watson, 74, of Morning Sun, died Sunday, May 6, 1990, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born Aug. 22, 1915, in Louisa County, he was the son of Chalmer B. and Rosa Wolverton Watson.
He attended the Morning Sun School system. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as cook for 20 years. He was a member of the Hays-Scott Post 112 of the American Legion, Morning Sun.
Surviving are one brother, Roy Watson, Morning Sun; two sisters, Leila Perrenoud, Newton, and Helen Marshall, Cedar Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
The service for Mr. Watson will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Morning Sun, with the Rev. Tom Zelany officiating. Burial with military rites by the Hays-Scott Post will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Morning Sun.
