Harold Wolverton 67, passed away September 10, 2014 in Winnemucca with his loving wife by his side.

Harold was born December 14, 1946 in Moberly, Missouri to Howard and Sibyl Wolverton.

He graduated from high school in Moberly and attended Columbia University.

Harold's early years were spent working for various employers in the mining industry. He then worked 18 years for the Sheriff's department in Macon County, Missouri and served four years as Sheriff. After moving to Winnemucca, Harold worked for Goldfields, Santa Fe and Newmont Gold and retired after 25 years of service. He was a highly trained and very accomplished heavy equipment operator and trainer, and a production and dispatch foreman. He later worked for Hycroft until illness forced his second retirement.

Harold married the love of his life, Robyn Schunke on April 18, 1992 and they enjoyed 22 beautiful years together. His life centered around his family, Robyn and Zachary, making them feel loved and supported. Harold often remarked that his greatest accomplishment was his son Zachary who was born July 23, 2001.

As a family Harold, Robyn and Zachary spent many hours hiking various areas in Nevada. Summers they traveled to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Yellowstone and, as Zach grew older, trips to Disneyland making a lifetime of wonderful, loving memories of their family life together. Robyn and Zachary loved Harold with their whole hearts and they will miss him forever.

Harold enjoyed feeding his quail and hummingbirds that inhabited their back yard and he took great pride in their home and could often be seen sprucing up their beautiful yard.

Harold was an amazing father and very supportive of all of Zach's endeavors. He never missed a ball game and was very appreciative of all his coaches. Golf tournaments with Zach were very special and in their last tournament together they won first place and a beautiful trophy to be treasured by Zach forever.

Harold is survived by his wife, Robyn, his son Zachary and many relatives in Missouri. He was predeceased by his parents and one brother.

A graveside service to honor Harold will be held Saturday, September 20th at 10:00 a.m. at the Winnemucca cemetery. Our wish is that you dress casually as that is the way Harold lived his life. In lieu of flowers, an account has been established for Harold's son, Zachary at Wells Fargo Bank.

Robyn and Zachary would like to give special thanks to the staff at Humboldt General Hospital for the care and compassion provided to their family during Harold's final days.

Harold moved to Nevada and remarried. He is buried in Winnemucca Cemetery in Winnemucca, Humboldt County, Nevada. He is listed in that cemetery as #136395667. If anyone objects to leaving him listed at Memorial Park Cemetery, I will certainly delete. I am thinking this would be a good reference since he does have a burial plot here.
