David L. Sidler
Navy veteran, family man, retired from PPL
David L. Sidler, 61, of Cameltown Hill Road, Danville, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at his residence. He was born on Sept. 5, 1950, in Muncy, a son of the late Nevin and Dorothy (Crawford) Sidler.
Mr. Sidler worked as a welder and later as a heavy equipment operator for PPL until his retirement. He proudly served in the Navy from 1970 until 1974. David was a family man. He was a member of the Mount Deliverance Center in New Columbia.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, the former Faith Shirk; a son, David N. Sidler, of Danville; a daughter, Lori, and her husband, Keith Rockey, of Danville; a granddaughter, Hannah Irene; as well as three sisters: Donna and her husband, Rick Fetterman, of Milton; Elaine and her husband, David Pesci, of Danville; and Eleanor and her husband, Ed McHugh, of Danville.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at Hendrickson United Methodist Church, 350 Cameltown Hill Road, Danville, with David's pastor, Rick Fetterman, officiating. The burial will follow at the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral services. The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Geisinger Hospice, 100 N. Academy Ave., MC 24-11, Danville, PA 17822-2411.
