"Amos B. Shipman

Amos B. (Shorty) Shipman, 86, of 334 Mifflin Place, died Sunday, April 8, 1990, in Leader Nursing Center.

Mr. Shipman retired in 1982 from the custodial department of Williamsport Area School District, where he had been groundskeeper for the football and track fields.

His wife, the former Anna Rukgabor,m died in 1958.

Born in Clarkstown Feb. 8, 1904, he was a son of Walter L. and Maude Gundrum Shipman.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Peggy L. Ritter, of this city; two sons, Robert L., of Fredericksburg, Va., and Richard D., of Rochester, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Glossner, of Elmira, N.Y., and Mrs. Ruth Gordon, of Oval Heights, 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Maneval's, 500 West Fourth Street, with the Rev. Ronald F. Mease, pastor of the Church of the Saviour, Lutheran, officiating. Burial will be in Muncy Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday."
