Johnny J. Guinn was born in Jacksonville, Texas on December 19, 1951.

He has lived, worked, and raised a family in Jacksonville.

Johnny has been a businessman at Glass Auto for his uncle, Orland Glass. He was owner of Guinn Plant Farm since 1984. He was also owner in Guinn’s Produce since 1997. He loved farming and growing things just to watch them grow.

Johnny has been a deacon of First Baptist Church and now at Cornerstone Baptist Church.

He loved the Lord, loved people, and loved his family.

He raised two beautiful children and was so proud of the adults they have become.

Johnathon took on Johnny’s love of farming and married a beautiful young lady, Linda.

Joni honors her God-given talent of taking care of children.

Johnny’s goal was to live a God-honoring life, serving and witnessing to all he came in contact with.

He was known by all for his smile. Through this last year of life, he confessed “a peace that passes all understanding” in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As he entered the gates of heaven on Saturday September 12, 2015, he is now free from this body and given a glorious new one. Praise God Almighty!

Mr. Guinn is preceded in death by his parents, John B. and Glynda Guinn; grandparents, Fred J. and Cora Davis; sister, Becky Jeanette Guinn; aunt, Laura Beth Owen; aunt and uncle, Orland and Phredia Glass; and a cousin, Martha Glass Hendry.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Wanda Lee Guinn; son, Johnathon F. and wife Linda, and a daughter, Joni L. Guinn both of Jacksonville; brothers, Jimmy Don (George) Guinn of Tyler; Jerry (Herm) and Shelly Guinn of San Antonio; sisters, Lynda R. Foster and husband David, Patricia( Casper) Ray, Vicki (Bug) Turner and husband Jim, and Tenna (Tiny) Walding and husband Phillip, all of Jacksonville, Suzzane (Cat) Musick and husband Lonnie, Granbury; a cousin, Saundra Ellis of Pharr; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A celebration service for Johnny is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Jacksonville with the Rev. Grady Higgs officiating. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. You are cordially invited to visit with Johnny’s family from 6-8 p.m. in the evening at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
