Mr. J. B. Lesher has received word of the death of his brother-in-law, Thomas Vandling, which took place at Green River, Utah, on Friday last, death resulting from erysipelas. The deceased was 73 years of age and was a former resident of Abbott, Neb. Mr. Vandling has visited in the city as a guest at the Lesher home shortly before Thanksgiving and on his return home was stricken ill on Dec. 11th which resulted in his demise. The remains will be brought to this city Tuesday, funeral services taking place at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the Geddes & Co. undertaking parlors. Rev. A. C. Hull, of the Baptist church, will officiate and interment will be made in the Grand Island cemetery beside the remains of his wife. Two daughters survive him.
