Myrtle Elinore Puerner was the daughter of August Puerner and Lillian Ann Hohenstein Puerner. She was the granddaughter of George Hohenstein and Keziah Hake Hohenstein.

She married Stephan M. Woolverton on 18 July 1917. Stephan was born on 10 August, in New York, He died on 10 August 1937, and is buried in the Evergreen Cemetery, in Ft. Atkinson. In 1930, Stephan and Myrtle were living at 326 Milwaukee Avenue, in Ft Atkinson. Stephen was a machinist in a barn equipment factory. He served over two years in the Civil War.

Stephen's first wife was Lizzie A. Korth.
