According to Ln Pumphreys book "the Pumphrey legacy. Name should be Dwith Leigh Pumphrey. Leigh being middle name.

"Thomas is the son of Samuel Ross Pumphrey and Emma L (Colwill) Pumphrey. Husband of Mary Elizabeth (Porter) Pumphrey.

Hi! I'm so glad that you listed Leigh on FG. This poor guy's name is Thomas Leigh, not Dwight. The name "Thomas Leigh" appears on his own death certificate, his daughter's death certificate, and his own marriage certificate. The only place that it appears (incorrectly) is on the 1880 census. Some fella writes a book, having only seen the 1880 census, and this poor guy is misnamed for eternity. I'm SO glad that you and I finally have a chance to correct this mistake. Thanks for taking care of this correction
