W Pastorius Dies At Hospital After Long Illness

Washington Pastorius, president of the Colorado Investment and Realty Co died at 65 this morning at a local hospital. he had long been in failing health.

Mr Pastorius was one of the best known business men of Colorado Springs and was active in civic and social affairs. He was a captain in World War 1 and had taken an active part in American Red Cross work for many years.

Mr Pastorius was a member of the Colorado Springs Board of Realtors for many years and was a president of the board in 1937. He long served as a member of the Colorado Springs Park Board and was chairman of the board for a number of years. He was a member of the Episcopal Church, the El Paso Club, the Cheyenne Mountain Country Club, Garden of the Gods Club and American Legion Post No 5.

Mr Pastorius, who resided at 17 W Unitas street, was born in Colorado Springs Sept 1, 1892. He attended Cutler Academy, on the Colorado College campus, and Yale University, where he was

Graduated with a BS degree and was a memBer of the Theta Xi fraternity. his World War service was in the Field Artillery. He had been Vice President and later president of the Colorado Investment and Realty Co since 1937.

Mr Pastorius is survived by his wife, Frances Pastorius and a son, Harold Watson, Colorado Springs; an aut, Mrs Horace E. Pastorius, Redlands, Calif and three grandchildren.
