HANNAH MOORE
Hannah Fredricka Moore, 90, a former resident of 25 E. Church St. and the Parco Apartments, died Sunday at 3:27 a.m. at the Clay County Health Center, where she had been a patient since September 1985.
Born in Brazil, she received her early education here and was employed at the former Leberer and Fiebleman Department Store as a sales clerk.
She married Newell F. Moore of Cory in 1918. They first lived in Terre Haute and later moved to Chicago, where he was associated with the Grisella Chemical Co. and the National Tea Co. They lived in Chicago 30 years.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1951. The next year she moved back to Brazil.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was active in all church functions, helping with dinners and the Christmas Bazaar. She also belonged to Order of Eastern Star, Chapter No. 80, and the Happy Housewives Home Demonstration Club. She enjoyed sewing and china painting.
She also was preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Summers, on March 5, 1980.
Survivors include two nephews, Frank W. Summers, New London, Conn.., and Robert L. Summers, Lake Mary, Fla.
Services are scheduled Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Moore Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Ostermeier, minister of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Cottage Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday after 4 p.m.
