"Obituary for Shawn Matthew McFall
ROSCOE, ILLINOIS – Shawn Matthew McFall, 29, of Roscoe, formerly of Pittsburg, died June 24, 2016 at the University of Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois.
He was born August 2, 1986 in Pittsburg, the son of Larry D. and Pam R. LaForte McFall. He had been a resident of Illinois for the past 18 years. He received two Associate's degrees from Rock Valley College in Rockford, Illinois, both in computer science, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Shawn was a computer technical support specialist, with memberships held in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Rock Valley College and The IEEE Society. Shawn was an avid lover of music, cars, sports, and his family. A self-proclaimed computer nerd, he loved both the construction and deconstruction of computers. He loved learning. He loved gaming. He loved reading. Most importantly he was loved.
Survivors include parents Larry and Pam McFall of Roscoe, Illinois, sister Jennifer L. McFall (Wm. Patrick) of Pittsburg , brother Brian J. Walters (Michelle) of Pittsburg, fraternal grandmother Mary Lee McFall of Pittsburg, uncle David J. McFall (Katherine) of Pittsburg, cousins Sydney G. and Kaya L. of Pittsburg, as well as several nieces and nephews. Shawn was preceded in death by fraternal great-grandmother N. Rebecca Coosemans of Pittsburg, fraternal grandfather Sidney E. McFall of Pittsburg, and maternal grandfather Julius "Bud" LaForte of Frontenac.
Services will be 10am Saturday, July 2nd at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway in Pittsburg, KS with Pastor Tom Wehrman of the St. John Lutheran Church in Pittsburg, officiating. The pianist for the service will be Sean D. Cribbs. Inurnment will be in the Pittsburg Garden of Memories. The family is asking in lieu of flowers, a memorial be established in Shawn’s name to the Wesley House in Pittsburg or Rosecrance in Rockford, Illinois in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be left for the family at our web site www.bathnaylor.com."
