Guy E. Belding went to Dundee this morning to bring back the remains of Al. Paxon, who died at that place early this morning. Mr. Paxon is an old resident of this place. He is survived by two daughters, Misses Mary and Agnes Paxon."

"The funeral of Alva C. Paxson was held at the Episcopal church Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Kemp, of Clinton, officiated. The bearers were: J J. Orr, Fred Rosencrans, James Lowry, Thos. Elliott, Dr. O. Q. Jones and Levi Hayden. Those present from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. George Paxson and son of Dundee, and Col. Finn and wife, of Manchester." [May 1906]

"[May 21 1906] Alva C, Paxon, a flour mill employe[e] at Tecumseh for many years, died at the home of his brother Geo. Paxon, at Dundee, where he was visiting, Monday morning. He was aged 52 years and leaves a widow and three children, He had spent the past several years at Chattanooga, Tenn. The funeral was held from the Episcapal [sic] church Wednesday by Rev. C. F. Kemp of Clinton. The Masons were in charge of the obsequies. Death was due to consumption"

"Mrs. A. C. Paxon.

Frances Luella Matthews was born at Seneca Falls, N. Y., in 1859 and came to Michigan with her parents in 1862. She was married to Mr. A. C. Paxon in 1878 and died March 21st, 1901. A kind husband, three children, a fond mother and a brother remain to mourn her loss.

Mrs. Paxon united with the Episcopal church of Tecumseh in 1874 and remained a faithful and loyal member to the time of her death. The funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Burleson, assisted by the pastor of the Baptist church.

Mrs. Paxon was one of the few who are naturally good. As a child she was loving and lovable and during her school days always manifested a sweet and gentle disposition, standing firmly for truth and right. One of her teachers said, "I could always trust Lula." She was one of those who as a daughter was true, as a wife was true, as a mother was true, as a child of God was true, who lived not for fashion nor for time but for eternity. Gifted by nature and still more by grace, she weilded [sic] an influence of righteousness wherever she was known. She talked freely of her departure and in the triumphs of living faith entered into the joy of her Lord. Of this one it can truly be said she doth rest from her labors and her works do follow in our hearts and homes. A large circle of friends north and south will always cherish her memory.

IN MEMORY OF MOTHER.

Darling mother now has left us,
And we miss her everywhere,
Miss those loving eyes so tender,
And a patient mother's care.

But we would not call her to us,
From that land so free from care,
Though our hearts are sad and lonely
When we see her vacant chair.

For the Savior called her to Him -
He, who every grief will share,
Called her home to Heaven and Father,
And they know each other there.

That sweet voice to us though silent,
Joins in songs of gladness now,
Where no lines of care nor sorrow
Come upon her peaceful brow.

She has gone before and lingers
Ever near that glittering stair,
With dear Father close beside her,
They are waiting for us there.

Farewell mother! Thou are happy!
While with yearning hearts we pray,
That we all may meet in Heaven --
When the mists have rolled away."

"It is with deepest sadness that her many friends learn of the death of Mrs. Al. Paxon at the home of Col. Fenn yesterday morning at six o'clock. The remains were brought here today and the funeral will be conducted at the old homestead by Rev. Burleson Saturday at 2 p.m. Mrs. Paxon, formerly Louise Matthews, was 41 years of age, and has spent nearly all her life here. Beside her husband she leaves her mother and three daughters, Mrs. Ella Weiser, Agnes and Mary. The family have the deepest sympathy of the entire community."
