"J.H. Luttenberger, 94, Boys' High reunion organizer

J. Howard Luttenberger, 94, a former office worker at the Pennsylvania Malleable Iron Corp., died Thursday evening at Hamilton Arms Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, where he had resided for two years.

Formerly of 1811 Lititz Pike, he was the husband of Kathryn Abel Luttenberger, a resident of St. Anne's Home, Columbia R2.

Luttenberger did cost accounting work for the former Pennsylvania Malleable Iron Corp., retiring 20 years ago.

Luttenberger was a 1916 graduate of the former Lancaster Boys' High School. As class president, he was active in class reunions for alumni of both the Boys' High School and the former Stevens High School for girls.

He served in the U.S. Navy for four years during World War I and until 1921.

Luttenberger was a member and secretary for many years of the Woodmen of the World. he was also a member of the American Association of Retired Persons and the St. Anne-Neumann Senior Citizens club.

He was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, where he served as Sunday school superintendent for many years.

Born in Limeville, Salisbury Township, he was the son of the late John and Margaretta Weber Luttenberger. His first wife, Miriam Snyder Luttenberger, died in 1970.

Surviving besides his wife are a son, John H. Jr., and a daughter, Janice L., wife of Clair H. Carpenter, both of Lancaster; a stepsons ,Dr. Joseph A. Clark, Washington, D.C.; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren."
