Funeral service for Delphine Louise (Littlefield) Sugg, 89, of Fletcher, Oklahoma, will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the Fletcher United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Trautman, officiating. Burial will follow at the Fletcher Cemetery under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sugg passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016, in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 89.
Delphine Louise (Littlefield) Sugg was born September 21, 1926 in Cyril, Oklahoma to Fred and Margaret (Eppler) Littlefield. Delphine worked at Ft. Sill and then during World War II was transferred to Washington DC to work in the War Department. After the war, she worked for a bank in Washington DC before moving to Oklahoma City where she was employed by a bank and then later the Glidden Paint Company. She married Charles Omar Sugg in Oklahoma City on April 8, 1951. The two were married for 65 years and were blessed with two children. Delphine always enjoyed singing and sang in the Washington Choral Society and in church choirs in Arlington, VA, Oklahoma City, Lafayet, LA, and Bryan, TX. She also enjoyed square and round dancing and she helped many new members learn the dances. She was very creative and liked making ceramic pieces for wall hangings and other objects for gifts. Delphine was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Omar Sugg, of the home; son, Charles Allen Sugg, of VA; daughter, Nancy Kathleen Sugg and her husband Chad Cooper, of WA; granddaughter, Chana Corey Cooper, of WA; step grandson, Chase Connor Cooper, of NY; nephews: Gordon Wolf and his wife Jeanie of Elgin and Willard Wolf and his wife Patty of WA; and nieces: Camille Snyder and Josephine Cook both of TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Fred and Margaret Littlefield; 4 brothers: Marx, Richard, Marshall, and Phillip Littlefield; and 1 sister, Helen Wolf.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Delphine’s name to the Fletcher United Methodist Church Women’s Society, P.O. Box 491 Fletcher, OK 73541.
