She is a precious little angel sent to be with us but for a very short time. But she made the headlines during her short time here on earth, as the 1st baby born in Alger County in 1958, during the worst blizzard the area had seen in a long time. She was born at home, a log cabin on M-28 in Deerton, just west of the old Post Office, with no medical assistance. No one was getting through during THAT blizzard, and there was no telephone in the cabin anyway.
