Bill R. Kester

Bill R. Kester, 62, 615 Cherry St., died at 1:30 p.m. Friday in his residence. He was a former Civil engineer, former owner of Oak Buffet and was maintenance supervisor of Deming Center. He was born March 28, 1923. His wife Mary F. Vachet Kester, died in 1979. Survivors include two sons, Thomas R. and Mark a. both of Terre Haute, one brother Robert, Terre Haute; one sister, Nila Johnson, Edgewood, MD; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Terre Haute social Lodge 86 F&AM, Zorah Shrine Temple, Kerman Grotto, Scottish Rite Order, Swords of Bunker Hill, Veterans of foreign War Lawton Byum Post 972, Wayne Newton Post American Legion and was an Army veteran of World War II. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday in Callahan Funeral Home East Chapel, with Father Dismas Veeneman officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park with military graveside services. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday with Masonic memorial services at 7.
