He was born June 16, 1916 in Clay County to Walter Steuerwald and Florence MCCULLOUGH STEUERWALD. Survivors include
his wife, Freida JACKSON STEUERWALD;
1 daughter, Anita COLLENBAUGH;
2 sons, Fred and Victor STEUERWALD;
3 grandsons,
1 granddaughter
5 great grandchildren.
Services are 2 pm Wednesday in Schoppenhorst Funeral Home in Clay City with the Rev Nathan Crouch officiating. Burial is in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 pm Tuesday.

Freida R. Steuerwald, 91, Linton, IN, passed away at 11:40PM, January 15, 2008.

She was born February 23, 1916 to Fred and Gladys (Robinson) Jackson. She graduated from Cory High School in 1933. Freida worked for 2 or 3 days a week at the Ladies Ideal Store in Clay City for many years. This was more of a pastime for her rather than a job. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. Baking pies and noodles were her specialty.

She and her husband Harvey enjoyed traveling on Turner trips. The western United States were among their favorites.

Reading was her pastime and reading poetry was what she enjoyed the most.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey Steuerwald; mother Gladys Jackson father Fred Jackson; brothers Sidna Jackson, Donald Jackson, and Fred Jackson as well as two siblings in infancy.

She is survived by a daughter Anita Collenbaugh and husband Don, of Worthington,IN, and two sons Fred Steuerwald and wife Janice of Clay City, IN, Victor Steuerwald and wife Dorcus of Titusville, FL, brother David Jackson of Vincennes, IN, grandchildren: Christopher and Timothy Steuerwald, Amy Williams and husband Robert, and Adam Steuerwald and wife Dixie; great-grandchildren: Krysten Steuerwald, Jayci Steuerwald, Remington Williams, Tanner and Colt Steuerwald, step-great-grandchildren:Kelsey and Emily Williams

Funeral Information
Services will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, Saturday, January 19, 2008, at 11:00am with Dr. Jerry Caskey and Pastor Nathan Couch officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, Friday, January 18, 2008, from 4-8pm. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
