C.L. Schmidt, Jr, 39, of Lamesa, son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hunt were held at the Presbyterian church at Lamesa.
Schmidt died while attending a track meet at Texas Tech, in which his son, Make Schmidt, was participating.
Schmidt, former employee of Lamesa National Bank, was a prominent West Texas farmer and golfer. He won the 1953 Lamesa golf championship and was past president and director of the Lamesa Country Club.
His wife, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hunt of Trout Haven, Terrero County, New Mexico.
Survived by his wife; two children - Mike and Suzan; his mother - Mrs. C.L. Schmidt, Sr. and one brother - Durward Schmidt, both of Lamesa; Dr. W.E. "Tubby" Hunt, of St. Charles, LA, brother-in-law.

A memorial service for Anna Louise "Sidder" Hunt Dalmont, 81, of Lamesa, formerly of Olney, was held Saturday, Oct. 13, at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Don Stribling, pastor, officiating.
Private interment was at Dawson County Cemetery.
Mrs. Dalmont was born Jan. 18, 1920, in Bowie to the late Charlie and Mary Lee Hunt, former Olney residents.
She and C.L. Schmidt were married Jan. 1, 1938, in Clovis, N.M. He preceded her in death in 1955.
She and Hardy Dalmont were married in 1963.
Mr. and Mrs. Dalmont were owners/ operators of a livestock auction facility, a feed lot and a ranch. They retired in Lamesa in 1981.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder and member of the Pastoral Search Committee.
Survivors include her husband, Hardy Dalmont of Lamesa; a son, C.L. "Mike" Schmidt of Dallas/Santa Fe; a daughter, Suzanne Schmidt and son-in-law Dan Jones of Longview; a daughter-in-law, Glenna Goodacre of Santa Fe/Dallas; a stepdaughter and her husband, Lynn and Jack Emerson of Flagstaff, Ariz.; her brother, John Charles "Jack" Hunt Jr., of Atlanta, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
