William E. “Bill”/“Grizz” Swisher, 59, of Waller Road, Benton, died Friday, July 28, 2017, at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital’s Emergency Room following a motor vehicle accident.

Born Oct. 16, 1957, at Muncy Valley Hospital, he was a son of the late Charles W. Swisher, who died July 30, 2007, and Vaunda J. (Sult) Swisher, who died July 28, 2017. He and his wife, Susan E. (Houck) Swisher, were married Nov. 5, 1988.

Mr. Swisher was a graduate of Millville High School and Williamsport Area Community College. He was currently employed by Cheetah Chassis in Berwick and had previously worked for Columbia Industries, Ardagh Group in Lime Ridge, and the Magee Carpet Company, Bloomsburg.

He was a member of the Waller United Methodist Church and the Moose Lodge.

His hobbies included small engine repairs, construction and spending time in the woods cutting firewood.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Susan, are his three children: Eric W. Swisher and his wife, Zoe, of Bloomsburg, Lindsay R. Swisher and her boyfriend, Marcus, of Bloomsburg, Steven Ryman, of Spokane, Washington; a granddaughter, Lilliana J. Swisher; and a sister, Greta Peterson, of Williamsport.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Biggar.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the McMichael Funeral Home Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton. Burial will be in the Lemons Cemetery, Greenwood Township.
