Everett Sparks, 79, Route# 1, Lewis, died Saturday morning while working near his home.
Born May 22, 1900, in Cory, he was the son of Hiram and Ella (Van Dyke) Sparks. He was a retired farmer and a former worker for the Fisher Body Company in Detroit, Mich. He had also sold sorghum. He was a member of the Friendly Grove Baptist Church near Lewis.
Surviving are his wife, Erma (Holston) Sparks; daughter, Wanda Marlowe-Rt# 2 Jasonville; son, Robert-Terre Haute; brother, Orville Sparks-Cory; four granddaughters and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Carl.
Funeral services were today at 2 pm at the Schoppenhorst Funeral Home witht the Rev. Halrand Thomas officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove.
