SUTTON (TNSs) - Loren Overturf, 60, of rural Sutton died Tuesday en route to Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in
Hastings.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Kohler Mortuary in Sutton with the Rev.Donald Burkum officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Grove Cemetery in rural Clay County.
Mr. Overturf was a lifelong resident of the Sutton area where he farmed.
Surviving are his wife, Leona; two sons, Marty of Sutton and Mike of Clay Center; a brother, Melvin of Glenvil; a sister, Lela Dean of Hastings, and three grandchildren.
Friends may contribute to the Clay County Museum.

SUTTON—Leona Martha (Heinz) Overturf died January 4, 1997 at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln at the age of 77.
Services were held Wednesday, January 8. 1997 at Zion Lutheran Church in Sutton with the Reverend Arthur Schmitt officiating. Interment was in Chapel Grove Cemetery in Sutton.
Music was provided by the trio of Donna Bauer, Shirley Syring and Kay Wach and Doris Gowen, organist.
Pallbearer were Kenny Overturf, Ron Nelson, Monte
Overturf Lonnie Lipsack, Hi Lambert and Rod Wright.
Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Overturf, Gary Hoyt, Larry Keim, Merle Nelson, Gordon Whitten and Allen Hoylman.
Leona was born December 6, 1919 in Sutton, to Julius and Martha Heinz. She graduated from Hastings High School.
She was united in marriage to Loren Overturf on May 8, 1941.
She was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church and Kitchen Klatter Klub. She was one of the first Red Cross Medical Self-Help Instructors in Clay County and also provided many years of First Aid Service at the County Fair.
She was preceded In death by her husband, Loren; parents; brothers Kenneth and Dean Heinz and sister Betty Daum.
Survivors Include sons Martin Overturf and wife Susan of rural Sutton and Michael Overturf and wife Sandra of
rural Clay Center; one brother Richard Heinz and
wife Leila of Bellingham, WA; two sisters Florence Schwarz and husband Arthur of Loveland, CO and Bernice Nelson and husband Jimmie of Kettle Falls, WA; sister-in-law, Lela Dean and husband Wayne of Mesa, AZ and three
granddaughters.
Memorials may be directed to family for use at the Chapel
Grove Cemetery.
Kohler Mortuary of Sutton was in charge of arrangements.
