Jean L. Heincelman, 83, of Hughesville, died Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at The Gate House.

Born August 6, 1931 in Lairdsville, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur C. and Edna M. Farnsworth Rogers.

Her husband of 27 years, Nelson H. Heincelman, preceded her in death on March 9, 2000.

Jean was an accomplished local artist, painting under the alias of Jean Rogers H. She was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church and a master gardener. In her free time, Jean enjoyed fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Cindy A. (Larry) Hartman and Betsy J. Bixler, both of Hughesville; two sons, Jeff L. (Anita) Houseknecht of Hughesville and Keith J. (Jane) Houseknecht of Picture Rocks; two sisters, June (Larry) Sayre and Effie (Ed) Budman, both of Hughesville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Warburton and a brother, Mike Rogers.
