CHRISTINE KAUFMAN, 93, of Moberly, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at her home surrounded by family.

She was born December 21, 1920 in College Mound, MO, a daughter of William A. and Lucille (Johnson) Wolverton. She married Melvin Hayes and together they had a daughter Connie Sue (Hayes) Haley. Melvin preceded her in death in 1945 in France during WWII. On June 10, 1953 she married William Kaufman who preceded her in death on July 16, 1984.

Christine was a 1941 graduate of Huntsville High School. She was a very active member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Moberly and was also a member of the Railroad Retirement Group (NARVE).

Survivors include one sister, Mary Lou Stallman (Charles) of Moberly, one brother George Wolverton (Sheryl) of Prescott Valley, AZ, one son-in-law, Walter Haley of Huntsville; two grandsons, Derrick Haley (Diane) of Moberly, Aaron Haley of Moberly; two great-grandchildren, Justin and Shawna Crosswhite; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to both her parents and her two husbands she is preceded in death by one daughter, Connie Haley; one brother, Howard Wolverton; one sister, Annabelle Wolverton and one grandson, Curtis Haley.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to service time Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Patton Funeral Home in Huntsville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Patton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Huntsville City Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Immanuel Baptist Church in Moberly.
