"1930 US Census shows Grant Woolverton - 1940 US Census shows him as Grant F. Bishop - step-son born to Edith and Kenneth Keck Bishop.

Although biologically Grant is not the sone of Ovie Washington Woolverton
- Grant eventually too on the Woolverton name (Ovie was probably the only father Grant knew)
- Grant's son Tim Kay was born given the name of Woolverton
- Tim's 7 daughters were all born given the name of Woolverton"

Grant Frederick Bishop was born Dec. 6, 1920, the son of Edith E. Gregory and her 2nd husband Kenneth Keck Bishop. By 1926 Edith had divorced and was remarried to her 3rd husband Ovie Washington Woolverton. Grant, whether officially adopted or not, eventually took on the name of Woolverton and sometimes even said that Ovie Woolverton was his father. Ovie was probably the only father Grant really knew.
