Obituary
Michael “Mikey” or ”Hobie” Allen Guerrettaz, II, age 30, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on September 29, 2017 in Brazil, IN. He was born on April 27, 1987 in Houston, Texas, the son to Michael Allen Guerrettaz and the late Gwendolyn (Laswell) Guerrettaz.

Mikey was a devoted Father to his two children, Darby Jane Guerrettaz, age 6 and Brody Michael Guerrettaz, age 3 and committed partner to Cassandra A. Kruse. He loved spending time outdoors and often could be found fishing or hiking through the woods. Mikey appreciated anything motorized from his motorcycles, mopeds or boats and had a gift to get almost any motor or engine to turn over. Mikey was athletic and could pick up anything quickly, as if he had been doing it his entire life. He attended Northview High School and received his Associates Degree in Management from Lincoln Tech Institute. While at Lincoln Tech he made the Dean’s List, was president of the Motorsports Club and worked at the Speedrome. He also enjoyed camping and canoeing with friends and family, skate boarding, playing the guitar, boating, wake boarding, attending festivals, collecting antiques, repurposing things, bonfires, and hunting.

In his short life, he touched many and he will be greatly missed as a loving father, life partner, son, brother and friend. One could not be around Mikey without getting a glimpse of his contagious smile.

Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Gwendolyn Guerrettaz; great grandma, Delores Sparks; grandma, Ruth McGlashen; grandpa, Jerry Laswell; and great aunt, Dorothy Price.

He is survived by his life partner and mate, Cassandra Kruse; their children, Darby and Brody Guerrettaz; father, Michael Guerrettaz; sisters, Sarina Gounaris (George), Latisha Guerrettaz, and Briana Guerrettaz; nieces and nephews, Chandler Alanis, Kailey Alanis, Julian Guerrettaz, Benjamin Guerrettaz, and Baby Victoria Marie Guerrettaz due in December; grandparents, Vickie Hofmann, James Guerrettaz (Carol), Denise Kraemer (Ralph); aunts and uncles, Brenda Laswell, James Guerrettaz, Joseph Guerrettaz, Stephen Guerrettaz (Teresa), and Gayle Kersch; as well as many cousins, extended family and friends.

Services will be October 7, 2017 at 2:00pm at French Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Russell officiating. Visitation will follow the service until 6:00pm at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Portland Mills Cemetery at a later date by his family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Agape Sober Living Home through Mike Jajuga at mjajuga@indy.rr.com."
