Mrs. John McPike, an aged resident of this city, residing at the corner of Sycamore and Vine Street, died Tuesday afternoon. She was about 78 years of age and is survived by her husband, a son by a former marriage, Mr. James Gorman, two sons, Ernest McPike and Oscar McPike, and a daughter, Mrs. R. G. Deem, living in Michigan. The funeral will be held from the late home Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock.

WELL KNOWN WOMAN, PIONEER OF HOAGLIN TOWNSHIP, ANSWERS THE SUMMONS

Mrs. John McPike died Tuesday night at her home at the corner of Vine and Sycamore streets, aged seventy-six years. She was a native of Marion county and later lived in Madison county, coming to Van Wert some twenty-six years ago to live in Hoaglin township. She removed to this town six years ago. Mrs. McPike was a life long member of the Church of God. Her direct survivors are her husband, three sons, James Gorman, of Jamestown, Earnest and Oscar McPike, and one daughter, Mrs. Ruben Deem of Willis, Michigan. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, at the home. The body will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery.
