Son of late Irvin H and Addie I (Shoemaker) Gable. Preceded in death by wife of 67 years Suzanne (Mermon) Gable, sister Helen (Gable) Tompkins and brother James Gable.

Navy veteran serving during World War II, enlisting as Sea Bee and stationed at Naval Supply Depot in Oakland, CA.

William Penn HS in Harrisburg Class of 1933, attended St Thomas College in Scranton and graduated from Central Pennsylvania Business School.

After the war, he was employed by the Federal Government and spent most of his career at the former Middletown Air Depot. He retired from the former New Cumberland Army Depot in 1971. He was a member of NARFE-102 (National Association of Retired Federal Employees) of Harrisburg, and American Legion Post 594 of Middletown. Mr. Gable was a member of St. Ann Byzantine Catholic Church, Harrisburg.

Suzanne M. Gable of Colonial Park, Harrisburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2007, in Community General Osteopathic Hospital.

She was born on October 17, 1914, in Nesquehoning, PA, the daughter of the late John and Melanie (Malinchock) Mermon.

She graduated from Nesquehoning High School with honors and was elected a member of the National Honor Society.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her sisters, Anna Risko, mary Wazny, Helen Wasilowsky; and brothers, John and Stephen Mermon.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Richard S. Gable; a daughter, Karen Sue (Gable) Baldwin and her husband, Dr. R. Scott Baldwin, of Erie, PA; and a grandson, Douglas W. Baldwin and his wife, Nicole, of Tampa, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

Suzanne was an active member of St. Ann Byzantine Catholic Church, Colonial Park, having participated in and chaired many projects.

She also served as the secretary and president of the former Ladies Guild.

She was employed for many years by the Federal Government at the Middletown Air Depot, from where she retired as an executive secretary after 20 years of service.

Following her retirement, she did volunteer work for over 20 years as secretary to the late Rev. Fr. Michael Shear, pastor of St. Ann Byzantine Catholic Church.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m., on Friday, November 9, 2007, in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA, at which time a Parastas Service will be celebrated, officiated by Rev. John Szada and Rev. John J. Zeyack.

Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, November 10, 2007, in St. Ann Byzantine Catholic Church, 5408 Locust Lane, Harrisburg, PA, officiated by Rev. John Szada and Rev. John J. Zeyack.

Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Harrisburg.

Memorials in Suzanne's memory may be made to St. Ann Byzantine Catholic Church, 5408 Locust Lane, Harrisburg, PA 17109.

Funeral arrangements are being supervised by Neill Funeral Home, Inc, 3501 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA.
