Gerald David "Jerry" Vermillion, 68, Lawson MO, passed away Friday October 2 2009 at the Excelsior Springs Hospital, Excelsior Springs MO.

Memorial Services will be at 6:30pm Monday, October 5 2009 at the United Christian and Presbyterian Church in Lawson, along with Masonic and Eastern Star Services.

Jerry was born on May 26 1941 in Kansas City MO, the son of Floyd W.L. and Mary Evelyn (Hollyfield) Vermillion.

On September 18, 1958 he married Donna (Frobish) Vermillion, who survives of the home.

He worked for Ford Motor Company. He was a member of Bee Hive Lodge # 393 A.F.& A.M., Lawson, Acacia #42 O.E.S.of Polo MO, Jewell Chapter 492 O.E.S. of Liberty MO, The AARAT Shrine of Kansas City MO, and the Mounted Guard.

Besides his wife Donna, Jerry is survived by daughter Katherine Whitley and husband Randy of Lathrop MO, son David Vermillion and wife Bernice of Hardin MO, daughter LaTrisha Anderton of Independence MO, daughter Deanna Tice and husband Rick of Lawson, son Paul Vermillion and wife Jana of Crystal Lakes MO, daughter Tokie Still and husband Tim of Chilhowee MO, son Jason Fitzgerald and wife LaChrisha of Excelsior Springs, 2 brothers: Floyd E. Vermillion and wife Shirley of Orrick MO and Freddie Vermillion of Independence; 3 sisters: Mary Ellen Brown and husband J.L. of Rayville MO, Wanda Fowler and husband Russell of Raytown MO and Linda Burton and husband Gilbert of Lancaster KS; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, The Shriners Childrens Hospital, or The Music Fund at the United Christian and Presbyterian Church.

Donna Marie (Frobish) Vermillion 71, died February 18, 2012 at her home in Lawson.
Mrs Vermillion was born September 29, 1940, in Columbus, Ks., the daughter of Lloyd Edward Fleeta Maria (Owen) Frobish
She married Jerry Vermillion on September 18, 1958. The couple ran off to get married August 23, but couldn't get an official to perform the ceremony as Jerry was underage. When Jerry reached the legal age less than a month later, they married.
Jerry preceded her in death on October 2, 2009.
Donna worked for the United States Social Security Administration, retiring in 1999.
She was a member of the United Christian Presbyterian Church where she also served on the Church Board.
Donna taught piano & gave lessons for a number of years, sharing her love for music by playing the organ, violin, & piano for local nursing home residents, her church and the Eastern Star.
She was a member of the Rayville Saddle Club, a Horse Foster Mother, Ray County Coalition to stop under age drinking, Comminunity 2000 for the Lawson High School, The Tree Climbers Genealogical Society, and she served on the Ray County Democrat Central Committee.
She was a 4-H leader, where she served as the Hippology program leader and a shooting sports leader for almost 40 years.
She was a member of the O.E.S (order of the Eastern Star)Jewell Chapter 492 in Liberty, the ACA/CA 42 in Polo, and as P.M. and D.D.G.M. of the O.E.S.
Donna wrote the Elmira Report for the Lawson Review for many years.
Mrs Vermillion was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jerry Vermillion.
She is survived by three sons and daughter-in-law, David and Bernice Vermillion of Hardin, Paul and Jana Vermillion of Excelsior Springs, Jason and Aimee Fitzgerald of McCordsville, Ind.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine Marie and Randy Whitley of Lathrop, LaTrisha and Rob Sippel of Independence, Deanna and Rick Tice of Lawson, Tokie and Timothy Still, one sister, Myra Frost; one brother and sister-in-law Melvin and Fran Frobish; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

Donna Vermillion died of Panreatic cancer.

Donna Vermillion was cremated and ashes put in Hosey Hill Cemetary.
