Jack Earl Jeffers, 83, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2017. He was born on April 10, 1933, in Terre Haute, to Theodore and Lorena Jeffers.
Jack graduated from Glenn High School in 1951. He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1957. Jack married the love of his life, Phyllis Jean Frew on Aug. 4, 1957. He was a self-employed farmer who spent time running a dairy farm, grain operation, and transporting fertilizer. He was an active member of Union Christian Church. Jack loved spending time outside in his garden and working on the farm. With Jack's loyal and outgoing personality, he was often found to be cruising the countryside and visiting with family and friends during his free time.
Jack is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Phyllis (Frew) Jeffers; his children, Debbie Sylvain and husband Jeff of Plainfield, Pam Zwissler and husband Ben of Columbus, Alan Jeffers and wife Nicole of Brazil, and Connie Gualano of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Iain McNair, Aaron, Nathan, and Daniel Zwissler, Asieavae and Avalee Jeffers; stepgrandson, James Zwissler and wife Lisa; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Connor, Allie, and Jake. Jack also is survived by his siblings, Marjorie Tanner of Terre Haute, Thelma Jean Zurcher of Terre Haute, Paul Jeffers and wife Betty of Waynetown, Kenny Jeffers and wife Georgia of Fort Wayne; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Theodore and Robert Jeffers; and a grandson, Shane Joseph McNair.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Grayless and Dave Rector officiating. Jack will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park's Chapel of Memories.
