== Biography ==Harriett became best friends with when she and her father, , moved to Sheffield Street, Pittsburgh, PA.
Harriett married Stanley Whiting on 27 June 1943. One wedding guest,Paulette Setler, was 5 years old at the time. She shared memories about the Harriett's bridal shower and wedding in an email.
"I remember bridal showers in the main parlor of the first floor. I was allowed to hand the packages to the bride-to-be. Ella, Harriett and their friends played cards in the dining room. I was given some cards and played with them under the table. I couldn't understand why the ladies looked at the numbers on the cards rather than the pretty pictures."
"Yes, my parents and I went to to Harriett's wedding. I don't remember the ceremony but I do remember the reception. My parents gavethem china from a very posh store. When Harriett saw the name of thestore on the box she became so excited that she dropped and broke another china gift she was holding."
