"Phillip Dean Ford, 65, of Bussey, Iowa, died Thursday July 20, 2006 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital in Knoxville, IA.

He was born December 10, 1940 in Iowa City, IA to Francis & Lois (Little) Ford. Phil graduated from Bussey High School in 1960. On January 18, 1962 he married Sandra Plum at the Bussey United Methodist Church. He worked at the Knoxville VA for 4 years and then at Maytag, retiring after 26 1/2 years of work. Phil enjoyed hunting & fishing, looking for mushrooms, going gambling and spending time with family and all his coffee drinkers.

Survivors include: his wife of 44 years, Sandra; daughter Cindy (Joe) Hirchak of Bussey; sons Richard (Tammy) Ford & Russell Ford all of Bussey; four grandchildren Josh Ford, Makayla Hirchak, Mike Brees, & Christopher Ford all of Bussey; sister LaVada (Tim) Duffy of Des Moines; & two brothers Ernie (Patty) Ford of Lovilia & Joe Ford of Bussey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers (Robert & Delbert) & sister (Helen Kay).

Casket bearers: Larry Pinegar, Walt DesPlanque, Mike DesPlanque, Wes Bonnett, Gary Zellmer, Dee Parker.

Sandra Lee Ford, age 68, of Bussey, Iowa, passed away Thursday evening, Januadry 2, 2014 at the Pella Regional Health Center in Pella.

Sandra was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on March 19, 1945, the daughter of Clarence Henry and Bonnie Jean(Grylls)Plum. Sandra was raised in Bussey and attended Bussey High School.

On January 18, 1962 Sandra and Phillip Dean Ford were united in marriage. Sandra and Phillip shared 44 years of marriage and they were blessed with three children: Cindy, Richard and Russell. Phillip passed away on July 20, 2006.

Samdra was a homemaker and enjoyed visiting with her family and playing games, especially 31 with her lady friends. She liked to scratch lottery tickets and go gambling. She also, with her family, helped run the Liberty Recreational Center in Bussey.

Sandra is survived by her children, Cindy(Joe)Hirchak of Bussey, Richard Ford of North Liberty and Russell Ford of Des Moines; four grandchildren, Josh Ford, Makayla Hirchak, Micheal Brees and Chris Ford; and four great-grandchildren, Kennedi, Kaisey, Zoey and Stephanie. She is also survived by her three sisters, Mary Showers of Lovilia, Bobbi Plum of Altoona and Pattiy Sage of Knoxville; and one brother, Robert Plum of Knoxville.

Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Bonnie Plum; her husband, Phillip Dean Ford; and one sister, Pam Plum.

Sandra was cremated. Her stone is located at Liberty Cemetery. Some of her ashes will be spread around a tree at her home in Bussey, and the rest are to be eventually laid to rest at Liberty Cemetery.
A celebration of life service for Sandra will be held at 11 am Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at the Bussey Community Center of Bussey. Following services a luncheon and visiting will be held at the Community Center. A private family burial will be held at the Liberty Cemetery at a later date. A memorial has been established to the Liberty Cemetery Association.
