Merle E. Miller, 81, of Pinellas Park, formerly of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2009. For many years, he served in numerous capacities at Maplewood Christian Church in Terre Haute. He also was in the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and Zorah Shrine, all in Terre Haute. He retired from Public Service Indiana after 38 years of service. After moving to Florida in 2005, he was active in Central Christian Church of St. Petersburg, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Wilma Andrews and Juanita Barthalome. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marquetta Joyce "Joyce" Floyd; son, Charles; daughter, Darice Brucker; six grandchildren, Taja Miller, Terra McFadin, Tyler Miller, Stephanie Miller, Charly Miller, and Lindsey Weisenauer; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Central Christian Church, 6161 22nd Avenue North, in St. Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Maplewood Christian Church, Central Christian Church, or Moffitt Cancer Center.
