Lester C. Flawd, 87, of Heatherbank Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Columbia, died there early Sunday morning after a long illness. Formerly of 312 Clove Ave., he was the husband of the late Estelle Shoemaker Flawd. He worked for REA Express for 40 years, later working for Watt & Shand department store for 15 years and retiring in 1979. Flawd was a member of First United Methodist Church; the Red Rose Chapter Coin Club; and the Artisans 27. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Harry and Elizabeth Bouder Flawd. Surviving are a daughter, Nancy L., wife of R. William Morris, Lancaster; two grandsons; three sisters: Lillie Pearson, and Irene Moss, both of Lancaster, and Ethel, wife of Lloyd Souders, Allentown; and a brother, Earl, Harrisburg.
