Gerald Case Hummel, of Bloomington, died Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Golden Living Center. He was 89 years old.

Born July 27, 1920 in Lewis, IN he was the son of David F. and Lucy (Case) Hummel. He was a retired sales representative for RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company. He was a member of the American Legion and a past member of the Toastmasters. Gerald was a member of the McDoel Baptist Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Deborah Snyder of Bloomington, Sandra Horvath and her husband Laszlo of Greenwood, IN; one son Michael Hummel and his wife Katherine of Lillian, AL; a sister, Lucy Jane Presswood of Lewis, IN; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Vera J. Hummel on Oct. 27, 2008.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 3, at 2:00 p.m. at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old State Rd. 37 with Pastor Harold Carter officiating. Entombment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens, where military rites will be conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard.

Vera J. Fiscus Hummel of Bloomington died Monday, October 27, 2008, at Bloomington Hospital. She was 88 years old.

Born March 5, 1920, in Terre Haute, IN, she was the daughter of Charles B. and Stella (Sparks) Fiscus. She worked for Indiana University as a cook for 12 years. She was a member of the McDoel Baptist Church.

Vera is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Gerald C. Hummel of Bloomington; two daughters, Debbie Snyder of Bloomington, IN, and Sandra Horvath (Laszlo) of Greenwood, IN; and one son, Michael Hummel (Katherine) of Lillian AL. She is also survived by six grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, October, 29th, at 2:00 p.m. at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old State Road 37, with Reverend Harold Carter officiating. Entombment will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
